Steve Valentine is a fucking treasure and is honestly one of the main reasons why I love Alistair so much. He sells it SO WELL with the softness/affection/Alistairy edge and humor in his voice with every "Ye-es?" and "Your desire is my command" that i fully believe this medieval computer boy is head over heels in love with me. A++++++ best voice acting in any video game EVER. Also, fun fact, Steve Valentine is playing Draculaura's dad in the new Monster High movie?! My dissonance knows no bounds. My girlfriend keeps saying things like "Draculaura's dad is so hot" and I cannot cope.
I do not give a fuck this is the most romantic scene in any video game ever. It makes me melt into pieces every god damn time. Whoever wrote this tugged directly on my heartstrings with A) making you feel SO FUCKING SPECIAL, B) Alistair getting all flustered in the cutest possibly way (see: Alistair Has The Best Fuckin Voice Actor), and C) the actual metaphor of the rose being picked up in Lothering is SO lovely and cute and agggg. Leliana actually references remembering seeing the rose, in DA:I!
My girlfriend and I actually argued about this, lmao. I think it's absolutely adorable and cute and cool and 90's and she... thinks he needs to shave, lol. And she usually LIKES scruff! I say let Alistair have his soul patch. He looks hella fuckin cute. Fun fact: When I first played DA:O, my settings were so low (2009 style) I didn't even notice Alistair's silly little soul patch even existed! Shame on me.
I will buy you a miniature golem doll Alistair!!! You're never too old to play with (minature golem) dolls. Or Grey Warden puppets. (I collect stuff very much in the vein of Miniature Golem Dolls so this is extra cute. <3 )
